ABOUT US

Built by the people who've done it before

Twogee was founded by two industrial biotechnologists who spent over a decade each engineering exactly the kind of processes we now offer. We don't study bio-conversion from the outside — we've run it at industrial scale.

WHO WE ARE

Twogee Biotech was founded in late 2024 and has developed rapidly since. The entire team brings more than ten years of industrial experience each in enzyme and strain development, and is deeply embedded in the relevant ecosystem.

This expertise formed the foundation for access to public funding and seed financing.

Twogee today operates its own state-of-the-art laboratory and a team of experienced industry and scale-up specialists.

First proprietary prototypes already outperform the current industry standard, and strong market interest is reflected in multiple ongoing, paid customer projects.

OUR STORY

How we got here

For years, second-generation bio-conversion has promised a better way forward. Using residues instead of food crops. Reducing dependence on fossil resources. Closing the carbon loop. On paper, it made perfect sense.

The false promise

For years, second-generation bio-conversion promised a better way forward. Using residues instead of food crops, reducing dependence on fossil resources, and closing the carbon loop — it made perfect sense on paper.

The reality

In reality, most projects failed to scale, not because the idea was wrong but because the economics did not work. Generic enzymes, high operating costs, complex supply chains — too many pilots, too few profitable plants.

Our Answer: custom fit solutions

This is the gap Twogee Biotech was built to close. We believe second-generation sugar should not be a vision but a viable industrial business, and we tackle the main cost drivers of bio-conversion through biomass-specific enzyme systems and on-site enzyme manufacturing.
